Window Regulator Installation BMW 325i e46

Right rear window. This is an easy job. The parts are cheap too. I paid with shipping on eBay and it took about an hour and a half to finish.

Have you ever heard of a Anti trap function. Once I fixed the window thats what it says evey time I start the car. The the window still only rolls up 4 inches at a time.

Not sure if U R the one who made this video but I want to thank U for making it. I would never have figured out the part when U remove the motor and then replacing it. The little trick of rolling the motor full up and leaving the window a tad open. It worked the very first time. Bottom line it was pretty easy and I saved myself $130 labor. Mucho gracias

    That’s the difference. I haven’t worked on e90 yet.

    It’s on a 2007 335i.

Is this on an e46? Never heard of this problem.

So I replaced the regulator just fine and when I put it all together it works fine except the window only rolls up 4inches and a time and gives me an error saying anti trap window malfunction. So it wont atoumatically roll up or down or even if you hold down the button in stops after 4 inches. Any ideas

Thank you so much for posting this video. I watched it step by step as I was working on my car and it made the job so simple to do. I’m so glad that I did not have the dealership do this for me because it’s so easy to do, you just need the right tools and the replacement part.

Thanks for the 411 edzgarage. Your video made my install a no brainer – slamdunk. I’ve got a toolbox full of tools _ standard and metric, torx, slotted, wratchets, extensions, sockets … you name it. But without your help, the tools were useless. Thanks a bunch.

Edzgarage has saved me 1000′s in diy videos – I hate dealers and my mechanic is making a living off of me lately. I just replaced rear window regulator all time added 1hr and a half, took me about 20 mins to remove the vapor barrier w/o just tearing it off.

Thanks for the comment and for watching! That screw can be a bugger to get in without dropping it.

I think it was a Torques bit. I don’t remember the part number. eBay has a lot of these parts.

Thanks for the video. It really helped and felt good saving some money. the only small issue i had was dropping the nut and bolt that connects to the window. I was tempted to order the replacement part but i was better off after seeing the frayed cable.

Great video. I have a 2004 325i that needs to get right rear fix. Which tool do you use to take the motor? I know is not a regular screwdriver. Also, do you know what is the part #? When I went to a mechanic, he tool me that I need part # 51 35 8 212 100, but I found it for like $60 on eBay, not $30 :( . Thank you :)

  • edzgarage says:

I would replace it all like I did.
