These video tutorials are awesome Eric! I find myself looking specifically for your tutorials before looking elsewhere. Ever thought about strolling along to your local tv network? They could do much worse than hiring your car skills and considerable talent in front of the camera. Thanks.

Eric, do you have to bleed all the brakes, or just the one you replaced?

  • totszwai says:

How do you remove the CAM out of the caliper? got the Honda rebuild kit, and I’m trying to take the CAM out of the caliper assembly so i can replace the cam seal… After i removed the parking nut, I turned the bolt clock wise like 90 degree and I heard a click… not the cam is kind a stuck at the horizontal position… you have any idea how to extract the cam out? or reset it back to its original vertical position?

Putting grease under the shims and on all mating surfaces ensures that there will be no squeaking or rubbing noises after you install the brake pads into the caliper assembly. Friction causes heat, which can produce noise when metal rubs against metal. The box that the brake shoes came in will usually have assembly grease, retention clips, and instructions of where to apply the grease. Note: Grease on the brake surface can cause brake failure! Road test to prime brake surfaces after assembly!

I read, re-read, plan, book my time, take my time, and walk through repairs in my mind before I attempt. Works for me every time. Dealer manual saves me money every time.

  • diggleboy says:

Eric, I do a lot of my own car repair and I bought the full dealer service manual for all the cars I owned so that I do it right. Honda+Acura are easy to work on. I own a 1999 3.5 Acura RL. Great car!

  • diggleboy says:

Great video Eric! Your video instructions takes the fear out of the DIY person doing these repairs themselves. Keep up the good work!

  • davelowe1977 says:

Stops them from vibrating at a high frequency – this produces an irritating high pitched squealing noise.

  • TheJokeyp55 says:

Love your videos Eric. You’re the man.
