Taking off the intake manifold was a big help as you can see so if your thinking about doing this job I would highly recommend removing the intake before removal. I drive one of these with 50k on the mileage.Every cabinet door squeaks and rattles while moving. The dash interior rattles on any wash board or rough road. The sleeper is not designed for the user as far as space and lights. The maxforce engine is not able to handle the loads as well well as the Cummings I drove prviously.I drove a frieghtliner Cascadia with 400k and it did not rattle. The Prostar also has a above self that sticks out way too far that limits the standing room in the front.

you bought one new didn’t you? big mistake there. never buy a new vehicle, because that makes you the bozo who has to work the bugs out of it. my idea of a stereo upgrade is buying an aftermarket stereo & installing it myself. Subs & amps are a waste of money. if you can’t hear the radio with factory speakers then you need your ears examined because your deaf.

Are you absolutely sure drivers use the steering wheel to control the ProStar…

  • pitbull1966 says:

5-6.5 mpg is if you are lucky.

  • pitbull1966 says:

don’t buy one, I did and it is nothing but trouble, spends more time in the shop then on the road. exhaust leaks, electrical problems, and don;t waste you’re money on the stereo upgrade as the sub is not installed correctly and the amp is almost always in fault.Biggest mistake of my life!

  • MichaelAdamsRocks says:

    @SonicTours28
Nope. The EPA doesn’t estimate fuel economy on heavy duty engines like they do on your average passenger car. The dealer told me anywhere from 6-8mpg, but that depends on your load, your driving conditions, etc.

  • MichaelAdamsRocks says:

That’s why I thought it would be something different. You really don’t see a whole lot of these commercial reviews.

  • MichaelAdamsRocks says:

    @SonicTours28
It was actually quite difficult trying to gather all the information on this truck, but I tried to find out as much as I can. Basically everything I mentioned during the engine shot was what I was able to find. It’s a 12.4 liter overhead cam 24 valve MaxxForce 13 In-line 6 cylinder diesel. Produces up to 475horses and 1700lb-ft torque. Turbocharged, intercooled and aftercooled with duel staged turbochargers.

  • manofthefog says:

    LOL
yeah I suggested that because I have seen very few if almost none of this kind of reviews so who else more appropriate? :)

  • JCC0728 says:

Great job Eric. I know I’ll be sore in the morning from trying to help you with that transfer case.

  • mrsexx1 says:

How come some engine installs require the timimg be set and others dont?

  • oli8181 says:

great video very impressive keep making more!!!!

  • darkenboy2010 says:

without a hoist ** Very Impressive Job

  • 94navin says:

great video Eric! Well i have a 1994 Mazda mpv rwd 3.0 and I want to put a 2011 Toyota tundra 4.0 v6 engine and transmission. I want a strong and fast set up and also one that would last. I was also looking at a Nissan pathfinder because they are both rwd and the van is rwd. I was hoping you had any tips on that.

  • Jeremy Lopez says:

dude, i wish i could help you.

  • Kevin Dollinger says:

when I did mine, I undid all but the last 2 body bolts and jacked up the body a few inches and I cleared everything

  • thedudewhoiskickass says:

“brand new” dosnt have over head cams witch is standard on all real cars

  • John fartbox says:

a car lift and a transmission jack would be nice.

  • Mebob2001 says:

changing the cat’s is really easy after u remove that o2 sensor, the sensor looks like a bitch but it is easy to remove, then use a 15mm semi deep swival impact socket and bam bam they come off, remove that crossmember witht eh 18mm wrench and socket and they slide right out!

    Great vid man! love it!

  • TheSmreeder says:

You handled that transfer case like a champ

1 tranny jack for trans case,2 balancer thingy for engine hoist.

  • 1996badcompany says:

just suggesting you should take concrete and make a little smooth incline so you can push the hoist up without having to put wood and use a bar, and to remove the exhaust bolt where that sensor is can you remove the sensor to get a gun on that bolt? but great video beautiful motor im only 16 i plan to either go to school to be a diesel tech or master tech haven’t decided but iv worked on chevys seance i was a little boy with my dad your videos are great their helping me learn alot. “stay dirty”

  • dkast5 says:

  • MrARM511 says:

ive seen people put the duramax diesel in these trucks (type duraburb into the youtube search bar) with the factory wiring harness and what not so why wouldnt the 6.0 work?

  • Dustin Johnson says:

    15:45

    Beast mode transfer case install!

  • joeldude76 says:

Who needs a tranny jack when you have a rib cage and two arms

  • Carlos Sánchez says:

    Excelente video Eric. Gracias

  • 6speeddakota says:

it’s really simple, all you have to do is get a 6.0 motor and PCM from a similar year, since the LS series GM engines are modular, it will drop right in since the motor is the same with a larger bore. and it will be completely plug and play since the plugs will be the same, just use the computer from the 6.0 to run the larger motor, which should also plug right in place of the 5.3 PCM

  • 59catmando says:

Human tranny jack. Been there done that. I’m to old for that now tho.

  • k5krusher says:

Eric,I just want to say I’m a huge fan of yours.I’ve damn near watched all your videos.I really, really, really!!!!!!! think it’s time for you to invest in a transmission jack.Watching you work on that ford focus clutch overhaul and you wrestling that even heavier t-case made me cringe for your safety.I hope some of your viewers could chip in money to get you one! Your one tough dude that’s for sure!

  • masster64 says:

why do americans need a shift indicator??
don’t they have the same letters near the gear shifter itself??
it’s about women, right? first those gay automatic transmissions, then that stupid shift indicator.
