If the motor’s worn, it could cause the windows to go up and down slowly. If the weatherstrip around the window is old and dried out, it could also cause the windows to roll up slowly. You could try to spray some silicone spray on the weatherstrip around the windows, to see if that helps to speed them up. You can find it at your local auto parts store.

I have a 1997 Honda Accord SE. All of my windows are slow moving but some how my mechanic turned off my driver side window so I wouldn’t be able to roll it down. 2 questions: Once I install the window regulator to my driver side will ALL the windows roll up faster or will I have to get separate regulators for each door? And how do I turn my driver side window movement back on? Great vid btw.

We currently do not have an auto repair video on that particular year Honda Accord. You should be able to apply some of the basic procedures shown in this video and apply them to your car. We carry new window regulators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

The Nissan Pathfinder will more than likely be different. However you would still need to remove the door panel and tape the window up into place in order to service the window regulator. We do carry NEW window regulators for your Nissan Pathfinder with FREE SHIPPING on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Would it be the same to replace on a 1992 Honda accord? I am a woman trying to do it myself, b/c I can’t afford to pay anyone to do it for me. I plan to order the part off of ebay. Thanks

You may want to check to see if there’s power going to the window motor and also to the window switch.

I followed the instructions on your video and i installed a new window regulator with motor on my 97 accord se. My window was stuck all the way down and i coudnt push it up so i had someone hold the window while i unscrewed it from the regulator and then pushed it up. Besides that, Im sure i did everything correctly according to your video, hooked up everything back. however window still doest go up or down. Any ideas? all other windows work fine.

Great video.help! Would you know what part is broken if when I roll up my window it tends to go out of place kind of like getting out of the window channel. I inspected the parts and everything seems to be right I just had to fix the rubber channels for the galss to get in place.

  • dats07 says:

Great vid. Can you tell me which part holds the glass to stay in the channel? My motor is working fine, but when I push the button for the window to roll up it tends to out of the channel and needs to be assisted by hand.thanks

Is there any way that you can make a video showing how to remove and replace the window motor (not regulator) on the passenger front side of a 1997 VW Jetta, GLS, 4cyl, 2.0??

Love the video’s, they have helped me a lot!!!!

  • 1aauto says:

The easiest thing to do then might be to cut each arm and get the window out of the way. you might be able to reach the bolts holding the motor in place to get it unbolts and then get the regulator out of the vehicle. I’ve included the link to the 2005 Caviler for the window regulators:
