What about with the crank window?

  • 1aauto says:

You should be able to carefully lift the tab up to disconnect the plug (as we did in the video).

I’m having trouble removing the power window switch from the control panel in the door. Im able to get the side mirror adjuster unplugged and the lock controls unplugged, but the larger switch has 3 clips (2 on one side and 1 on the other). On the side with 2, I can’t get it to come off without fear of snapping the casing.

    Any suggestions?

You may need to have an auto body shop pull the dent out for you. They have special tools that can do this sort of thing.

i have a 03 grand am and my sister thought it would be a good idea to park under my basketball hoop on a windy day so now i have a od shaped dent right below the window line on the passengers side. so i tryed a plunger but it cant get a good seal , i was thinking about dried ice next. do you have any better ideas

We currently do not have a video that shows you how to perform this particular auto repair. You may want to check with an auto body shop to see what might be involved with replacing the door, and properly aligning it back up the correct way.

How do you replace the entire door? My 2005 Pontiac Grand Am SE has a giant dent on the outside. I don’t think I can tap it all back out, so I’ve decided to replace the entire Door with one from a Wrecker. How many bolts does it take? Is the wiring bunched together?

This was just what I needed. Thanks for posting this video.
    Keep up the good work.

If you take the door panel off there may be some fasteners inside of the door that hold it onto the door. Some manufacturers also use 3M double sided tape to hold door trim and ground effects on. Hope this helps you out.

How do you replace the outter door trim? i have a 4door and the trimming is like a rippled trim, i bought the car a while ago and the door and trim is crunched a little bit, if i took off the trim peice, replaced it, and bent the little dents out myself, it would look fine. do you just have to take off door panel and get to it from inside the car?

On 2:22 in the movie he shows you how to remove the screws holding in the bezel around the inner door handle, if this is the part that you were referring too. It should come off pretty easily.

  • KaMiLeUn says:

Okay so he didnt tell us to take off the backing to the Handle… But he tells us to put it back on ;) He skipped a step! Thanks though It was helpful, thankfully I knew how to take the backing to the handle off before I seen this :)

You would need to remove any of the trim pieces that hold the door panel on. Then pry the panel off of the door as shown in this video.

  • stinnett49 says:

So I can do the same process with taking off the back door panel?

  • MyzDefy says:

It would be nice if you could go “close up” on the removal of the wires and how you do that.??..I see you using a screwdriver and I hear a “click” but I have no clue where you pushed the screwdriver to be able to get them disconnected?? Anyone else out there,,,can you help??

  • chaseman94 says:

Actually the ones in the front are 4×6. I’m looking forward to replacing mine too along with the 6×9 speakers in the back as soon as I can figure out how to do it myself.

  • 1aauto says:

The basics should be similar.Start with removing all of the trim pieces, then the door panel screws.

  • jakardster says:

How about for pontiac g6? I`m just wondering if the same step?

  • iceman977th says:

My guess if they’re the same as a GT are 5.25 in the front & 6×9 in the back.
