Mystery Of The Buried Ferrari Dino Solved — JALOPNIK ON DRIVE
Back in 1978, a 1974 Dino 246 GTS was found buried in a yard in Los Angeles. With the help of the Dino’s current owner and one of the investigators on the case, who fed us some previously-unreported details, we wrapped it all up into a mini-documentary for this week’s Jalopnik on Drive. It’s the real, real story about the buried Dino. jalopnik.com
Programming a key fob is easy just follow the steps and you should be all set For VW only

Sad story
Poor Ferrari dino 246 gts
Just my .02 but I think its kinda ugly! Awesome car still, but would def buy a different model, if I had the cash, LOL!
They knew who it was, they just couldn’t find him.
I can’t believe that they were never able to catch the guy who committed the insurance fraud! What’s so hard about running the plates by the DMV? What’s so hard about contacting the major insurance companies to find out who got paid off on a missing Ferrari? Talk about inept police work!
#1 Grandpa!
a leaf
well done.
whats on the bumper at 7:32
This is fantastic!!! Love Ferraris
Wow.wot a story.
I translated the whole story from the initila article for our german Dino club magazine months ago and now found the end of mystery. Awesome report and video! The owner is a real Dino fan und the Car is stnning great.
enjoyed that, cool story !
how i think of it . The mechanic could no longer afford the car so its insurance fraud
Cool story. I love the classic Ferraris.
Amazing video and some great detective work too
Really amazing and in interesting piece!!
Great work!!!!!
Very cool, everything I had read on this car said it was dead and gone, I’m glad the true story has turned out differently. Give hope for future ‘barn finds”
Show me the CarFax!
the good days where ferrari had soo passion no one could kill one
that ferrari dino is Down to Earth. Learn something bitches.
SNOW WHITE SPOILERS!!
But in all seriousness, I’d never watch it.
Good vid.

Thanks man huge help on saving me cash…
going to try it in the morning, thanks
this is a really neat trick vw put in to their cars back in 2000. I am surprised they did this simply DIY trick. Most car makers would just charge the customer £70 to reprogram the key manually.
you welcome
As far as i know its only for VW, but you can always try
This will only work for VW cars, and i really don’t know anything about Hyundai, i’ll ask around if i find out how i’ll post it here…
hi..i live in the usa.. and i have a hyundai 2006 elantra..i do have both keys…but will this work for my car or do u know a way for hyundai keys ..? thanks ….sean
Hi, Will this work on any car in any country? I’m in Australia, Thanks!
didnt work for my 2002 VW passat
Thanks!
Didn’t work with my Kia OPtima 2005. I turned the key and it made no noise, and then tried the remote and nothing.
Nice 1
Does anyone know how to transplant the contents of the Banjo key into a bank vw flip key so that it can work with a MKIII Golf or Jetta?
Yes it will activate all the buttons on the FOB
please explain me because I don’t understand if I do this what happened ? with that key, now you lock and unlock the car ?
Quick question. I have a 2010 Jetta. Just bought two clone keys that need to be cut. I do plan to have a locksmith cut the keys. Can I then program the key itself? The chip is in the key head, not a separate fob. Thanks!!
You’r welcome .
thanks man for the help
Thank you very much for this video. I have three remotes and I only had one that was working, except for the hatchback lock which I fixed by opening the control remote and soldering the tiny switch which had become disconnected. The dealer ship wanted $70 for a new remote and $90 per key to program them to my car. Thanks to this video I have three working control remotes.
Now, I wonder why do they become un-programed?
No you have to buy the one made specifically for your car, i think the A4 for that year have a flip key,try the dealership, not really sure if this way would program it but there’s no harm in trying,,,,i got mine from ebay for about 75$……….Good luck
whats up man .i own a 2001 audi a4 im guessing it should also work for me.so can i use any keyless remote that i buy?? or are there specific ones where did you buy the one you have?
i guess you could,,, but i can’t, its too adorable to hate haha
dislike if you dont like vw
it will program all the buttons on the fob, except the key….
