Just a note for somebody who may try this, the metal clips should NOT be removed from the green rollers before installing, they’re designed to be left in place so when you pop the arm in they lock, and it’s a pain to try to get them in after the fact.
Also, be aware that there’s a some plastic/rubber guide that sometime falls off, that is supposed to hold the glass in place in the side guides. I went through this once and had to do it again because the windows fell off the tracks.
To answer to your “question” in the video if u have to pop out that little plastic piece next to the rearviewmirror. No you dont have to pop it out but it sure makes it a little bit easier. All you can do is to use a little bit of force and drag it out and it will pop loose.
The green plastic piece is Saab part number 44 93 433 window regulator roller

Hey Eric! What is wrong with my window? It sounds like a machine gun. It will not go all the way up. there is about a half an inch gap. Regulator?

Quick question! My saab 9-5 has this on the drivers door! SHOCKER! Can you tell me what the part is called?
Depends on the size of your hands perhaps. I did mine by lowering the regulator to the position where E put the rollers back and R&R’d the rollers. Was it easier? Perhaps, since clipping the clips was the hardest part.
One extra problem I had was the rubber track inside the door was pushed out of position when the window fell. I put that in after the window was back and fully up. it slides into the larger metal slot, small side to the outside of the door. Be sure to push it up fully.

This only took me two and a half hours (one of the regulator arms was bent at a 90 degree angle ?&^!!! )….you are a wonderful man, man!! Now I’m going to tackle something called a blend door driver under the dash….ugh.

so many times it rained and my poor car got wet because it was such a PITA to have to close the window all the way. 80% of the time i would run out to my car before storm to close completely. but there was a few times i forgot and came back to a wet carpet.
Luckily i could put top down on sunny day dry it nice. so no mildew thank god
but now no need to worry bout anything anymore. my window closes no problem!I love cheap fixes! $2.50
I got a Saab 9-3 Convertible, very similar to the 9-5. (except, ofcourse, it is convertible. lol)
well anyway, eversince i got the car the pasenger window would not go up all the way. always stuck 1/4 inch,would push it up by hand as i pushed the button to completely close it.
it wasnt until i watched Eric’s video on the Honda window runner. He said “Silicone Spray”. i ran out that night (1:30am) to walmart, grabbed some silicone spray ($2.50). has been working perfect eversince! thanks ETCG!
Ok…next job…installing a saab cup holder in my 92 civic. So awesome!
I have replaced the green roller guides without taking the regulator out.
Need to plug in the motor/switch connector to move glass up/down to get the 2 rails where the rollers run into a good position.
I inserted the new rollers into the rail first, put them where the ball end of the arm is, then push in the ball into the roller. Only tricky part is getting the clip on. I used needle nose pliers.

how do you test the motor if you have a bad switch? im trying to diagnose my power windows in my 2004 chevy cavalier.

i had a worst situation on my golf iv as the driver side window regulator on the right as i live in the uK and motor had packed up it cost me £160 to put right, well the cables and the clips broke so BOOM! window went straight down and it didn’t come back up
Hey Eric, I took apart a window on a 2000 Honda civic and notice similar clips broken on the window track, does the dealer sell those clips???
i think saab was once owned by gm, maybe?
