I have changed my anti roll bar drop link on Honda civic 2001, Lower arm suspension. Now I am noticing a similar noise over the bump at low speed. recently the noise going from clank to s-quick noise.
inspected the suspension cant figure out?
do you think it might drop ling anti roll bar?
Thanks for this great video. I just purchased a 2004 Element EX 4WD with 200,000 miles on it this past week. The vehicle is in great condition, but I’ve been noticing some squeaking/clunking coming from around the front end on the passenger side. The thing is, it’s only really noticeable when the temperature is cold. It makes the noise during normal driving, turning, and reversing. Would the stabilizer links be what I should check? this can also be the sway bar frame bushings. There is on on either side. It’s best to replace these when you do the sway links because you can only get them off when you remove the sway links. They might look fine, but they can be so squishy that they will allow the sway bar to bang on the frame. There is a bracket with two 10mm bolts that hold the sway bar frame bushings in on either side. Each side, as you remove the links, remove the frame bushing and replace.

I like to vive a tip on this job and angelito other similar nos when you Are dealing with rusty bolts :like you said try to tight them first then use some kind of steel wire brush to clean out the rust the better you clean this the easier it will come off,add more penetrating oil to lubricate then try to get it off.
And always plan ahead the longer you let it soak on penetrating oil the better.
Great video. Had to go through this to get the upper end link attachment disconnected from the front struts so I could replace the struts.
Anyway, the end link boot leaked grease when I pinched it with the vise grips. After I was done, the boot looked fine. Do you think I need to replace the end links because some grease squirted out?? I plan to just wait it out and see if I get a noise but was just wondering what yo think.
I have a 2003 Honda Element and there is a rattling noise from the front drivers side. It occurs when I’m just driving down the highway, not making any turns. It will rattle for a little bit then just stop. Any ideas? It’s not squeaky like your car was in this video.

I have areally iratating sqeak coming from the fron drivers side. I have replaced both drop links with no luck. I have also replaced the anti roll bar rubbers and the sqeaks is still there. Any ideas….I have cheacked the bottom ball joint and it has loads of grease in it and no play at all
Just wanted to let you know that your video was VERY helpful. I did, however, use a cutting torch to melt off the OEM nut on the link and then pull it off the sway bar, I think that is a little bit more easy then removing the axle. I also replaced the OEM Honda part with a Moog part, that IMO looked better then OEM and had grease fittings. Just wanted to let other Honda Element owners know… Thanks again!
I have this smart trick, that usually works perfekt for me. Did this yesterday. Completely rusted out. I managed to apply inhumanly power to the handle with my spring compressor to get it to hold while easyly taking the bolt off. Just destroy the rubber thing on the stabilizer to get space to hold it.

Im not sure if the element is setup this way, but on the 01-05 civic which has a similar susp. setup, you can do this without going through the trouble of pulling the shafts. If you undo the nuts that connect the links to the control arms, and then undo the swaybar bushing mount bolts ( 2 per side, and avoid snapping these bolts at all costs) You can move the swaybar away from the driveshafts so you can get your impact gun on the second nut to blast it off.
I have a noise that makes a “grinding trumpet noise” when turning right? Is this the idler arm bushes worn?
just changed my stabilizer link without heat or an impact. but i did have a sawzall! still was tough.
i replaced the stabalizer link in my 02 chrysler town and country but after 2 days it started making creaking using penatrating oil on thr bushing make it stop

I had my pulleys/belt squealing when my car was cold (1st thing in the morning) I changed PS pump and Pulley, tensioner, and another pulley to no avail I also changed the belt to a Dayco belt still squealing. So just for kicks I went to the dealer GM and bought an OEM belt noise gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just finished replacing the links on my 2001 Civic. I did all 4 of them by hand. My air compressor is broken. It wasn’t as hard as I thought. I used a propane torch to heat up the nuts and a pair of vice grips to hold the ball end of the joint. This video probably saved me $200 in labour and taxes. Thanks!
