“When have I ‘bashed’ hybrids for being Japanese?”

    When you didn’t?

“Re-read the my original comment. And don’t act like an unsocial pleb”

Irrelevant. you are Japanese hater. period.

“If you want to be taken seriously, then try to refrain from typing down your emotions”

I don’t care, however if you want to be taken more seriously, you should start saying things on a single standard. If you don’t like hybrids speak stright and in what brand they come you should keep your stance. However, if you are going to talk like a woman on her PMS and bash hybrids when they are Japanese and praise them when it is european you can go fuck yourself emotionally or not emotionally.

If you want to be taken seriously, then try to refrain from typing down your emotions. ‘shitty’ ‘shitty’. It’s clear that you are biased and that you have not even bothered to have any actual logical thought about hybrids. I live in Ireland, and it’s no secret that VW is unreliable. VW makes around 5% of the market here, most diesel cars here are from Ford, Toyota, Kia, cars fro the PSA group and Hyundai. VW is known here for good quality for its value, reliability is definitely not one of them!

  • Fussinated says:

“The problem and reason why VW isn’t making any is that hybrids are expensive”

Oh come on now, hybrids are shitty cars regardless, Diesel is the way to go, as long as they are made by VW (or euroepans for that matter). And hybrids are shitty as long as Japanese make them. We already know this. So, there is not need to dislike this car just because it is hybrid.

  • Fussinated says:

“So far, it seems like the Jetta is better ”

Why of course, after all it is not a Toyota. I mean come on all those diesel is better than hybrid BS is only to bash Toyota or Japanese cars. So, there is your Europeans hybrid and defacto it is better. LOL Idiots.

im interested in getting a 2013 jetta SEL but i have heard vw reliability is not that great… Few people i know have had electrical issues… not sure who would want to by an electrical car which has a repuation that has electrical issues and have to shell out several extra thousands of dollars. If anyone has comments regarding vw issues please post. thanks alot .

1:50 12.9 cubic inches of trunk? Wow, those batteries must be big.

  • linuxisbetter0 says:

The price has to start below $20k if they want to compete with the Toyota Prius.

So far, it seems like the Jetta is better but the price Is the selling point.

  • khaled rizve says:

how much will be the price

  • toyotaprius79 says:

The likes of Citroen and Peugeot are making diesel hybrids, and Volvo are making Diesel-Plug-in hybrids.
The problem and reason why VW isn’t making any is that hybrids are expensive, and diesels are more expensive than petrol cars because components like diesel particular filters raise the price. So a petrol-hybrid would be a more competitive car as it would cost the same as the diesel Jetta, which is a shame really.

  • arunmaroli says:

How long does DSG last on the hybrids? We know on non-hybrid VWs DSG is programmed to self-destruct just outside the warranty period.

  • PersonalJesus348 says:

The TDI is still a superior piece of machinery.

  • danwat1234 says:

Why is VW so dumb?? Don’t use a 1.4 liter OTTO cycle gas engine! I don’t think they are even using an Atkinson cycle OTTO. VW is not very good with gas engines, take the whopping 31MPG hwy new Beetle for example.

Come on now! It’s real easy. Put a 1.2 liter turbodiesel like you have in the European Polo and mate it to a strong hybrid drivetrain.

Bam. Now you have more MPG than any Prius and decent acceleration due to the power of the electric motor.
    55-60MPG HWY is within reach.

  • romanmicagearguy says:

We have not heard that rumor, so I wouldn’t wait for something that may not happen.

  • robbyjay1978 says:

Roman, have you heard any rumor that the 1.4 tsi will be available as a replacement for the 2.5 5. Do you think that one should wait for this new 1.4 tsi non hybrid model?

  • Chris Pisz says:

    It’s about time

  • xtyson5 says:

  • Hasan Raza says:

It would probably get better mileage if it was a diesel hybrid.

  • romanmicagearguy says:

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated and you bet we’ll test the Cadillac ATS and XTS as soon as we can get into them.

  • walrusking14 says:
